Directive Shorthand 3.5 · Command explorer · Assembled from the canonical spec, registry, usage guide, and implementation guide — this page adds no meanings.

What it does

An application as the deliverable: a working program to run — a web app, a tool, a utility — built and delivered running, not described.

The registry's own words: An application as a deliverable: a working program to run — a web app, a tool, a utility — built and delivered running, not described.

Fire it — usage examples

“A little app that turns a moving inventory into a quote. gen:app”

→ the app is built and delivered running — you can use it, not just read about it.

“Build the timesheet calculator we sketched. gen:ap”

→ a working program is delivered; where the host can build but not run it here, the built artifact plus how it runs is delivered, disclosed.

Said aloud: “Lingo, generate app — the quote calculator.”

→ the working app is delivered.

Spoken. Inside a marked span opened by the wake word “Lingo”, the spoken form is “generate app”. Dictated directives fire deliberately, never by accident.

What the agent actually does

The agent builds the program the message designates and delivers it in running form — hosted, executable, or runnable artifact, as the host allows. Code sketches and descriptions are not the app; where no run path exists, the built artifact and how it runs are delivered, disclosed as such.

The baseline procedure, its edge cases, and this directive's full guide live in the implementation guide: implementation/IMPLEMENTATION.md#cmd-gen-app ↗.

When the host can't

No generation capability for app on this host: disclose it plainly, never fake a running program, and never silently substitute a description or a code sketch for one. A natural partial: where the host can build but has no run path, deliver the built artifact plus how it runs, disclosed.

Conformance — “done when”

A working program is delivered running (or the built artifact plus its run path, disclosed), never a description standing in for one.

Persistence class: content-write. Execution report in the reply: required. A user can test any of this by hand — fire the directive, then check the result against the store, the schedule, or the reply itself.
