Directive Shorthand 3.5 · Command explorer · Assembled from the canonical spec, registry, usage guide, and implementation guide — this page adds no meanings.

What it does

A photorealistic image as the deliverable: an image whose promise is realism — as if captured by a camera. The counterpart to gen:art's made, styled image: same medium, opposite promise.

The registry's own words: A photorealistic image as a deliverable: an image whose promise is realism — as if captured by a camera — distinct from gen:art's made, styled image.

Fire it — usage examples

“A photo-style shot of the crew loading the truck at dawn. gen:photo”

→ an image rendered to read as a photograph is delivered.

“I need it to look real, not illustrated. gen:ph”

→ realism is the deliverable — light, lens, and grain do the work a named style would do in gen:art.

Said aloud: “Lingo, generate photo — the truck at dawn.”

→ the photorealistic image is delivered as an artifact.

Spoken. Inside a marked span opened by the wake word “Lingo”, the spoken form is “generate photo”. Dictated directives fire deliberately, never by accident.

What the agent actually does

The agent renders the designated scene to photographic realism and delivers it as an image artifact. It never presents a generated image as a captured photograph of a real event — the artifact is photo-realistic, and its generated nature is disclosed wherever that distinction matters.

The baseline procedure, its edge cases, and this directive's full guide live in the implementation guide: implementation/IMPLEMENTATION.md#cmd-gen-photo ↗.

When the host can't

No generation capability for photo on this host: disclose it plainly, never fake a photograph, and never silently substitute a styled illustration or a description for it. A description of the image is not the image.

Conformance — “done when”

A photorealistic image is delivered as an artifact, or the missing capability is disclosed — never a styled illustration silently substituted.

Persistence class: content-write. Execution report in the reply: required. A user can test any of this by hand — fire the directive, then check the result against the store, the schedule, or the reply itself.
