Directive Shorthand 3.1 · Domain · KNOWLEDGE
learn: — what the agent knows
Two directives over the agent's subject knowledge: a skim study and a full study. Both are Level 2.
What this domain governs
Subject knowledge the agent takes in from material you designate — documents, a folder, a whole catalog. It is agent-side: it governs the agent itself, not the reply. The distillation lives in a knowledge base, a store distinct from the state it holds of you (mem:): what the agent knows about the world here, what it holds about you there.
Every token in this domain completes the same silent instruction — take in and make part of what you know … — written in the specification, never typed by the user. The prefix names the thing the phrase governs; the name after the colon qualifies it.
The domain's rules
- The pipeline. Designate → ingest → distill → store in the knowledge base → organize for retrieval → later answers draw on it with provenance: an answer resting on the learned base says so.
- Honesty is the domain's spine. Learning is ingest and distillation — never weight training, never claimed as such. Coverage is reported as achieved, never rounded up; learned-base claims are always distinguishable from general knowledge.
- Fact vs corpus.
mem:is fact-sized — a preference, a rule. A corpus is not a fact; making material durably influence the agent is this pipeline, and this domain steers it.
The directives
| Token | Axis | Shortest | Level | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| learn:quick | Depth | qu | 2 | Skim study: ingest the designated material and distill its headlines — structure, key claims, glossary — into the knowledge base. Confirms the corpus and the coverage actually ingested. |
| learn:deep | Depth | de | 2 | Full study: complete chunked ingest of the designated material; structured distillation (concepts, claims, entities, cross-references) organized for retrieval; a study report (coverage, gaps, confidence); influence probes run against the corpus and reported. |
Each directive page carries the detail: fired examples (typed, reply-targeted, and spoken), what the agent actually does under the hood, the honest fallback when a host lacks the capability, and the conformance test the directive must pass.
